For our anniversary (yes, back in May) I wanted to camp and hike in Moab (yes, without kids). So the weekend after our anniversary we headed to Moab!
We arrived Friday afternoon and headed straight for Arches National Park. We hiked Park Avenue and Delicate Arch. Even though it was a bit windy on those trails, we enjoyed the hikes together. After hiking (and some ice cream) we headed to the KOA to set up camp. Well, the wind really picked up! It was nearly impossible to set up the tent and in the end we both slept in the stuffy car. Ugh!
The next morning we hiked Negro Bill (of course in the relentless wind) in about three hours. After our quick lunch in the car we drove into Arches to explore Devil's Garden. We lasted half an hour...the wind was blowing strong and small pebbles were pelting us from all directions. Not so fun! We were bummed to cut our trip short and head home. I guess there's always next year!

Sand and pebble trails, boulders to climb over, a creek, shady trees, tall sandstone towers and a beautiful arch at the end of the trail.

How fun without kids. Sounds like you got to do a lot more walking!!
Wind...wouldn't you know? But I am glad you found a place that you both love!
I'm so glad you got to go. Sorry to hear about the wind! It can make things miserable.
